Nearly 600 Balloons In The Skies Above Albuquerque

Hundreds of colorful hot-air balloons are in the skies above Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday (October 7).  Around 500 traditional hot-air balloons and 94 character balloons, including Smokey Bear, have lifted off.  

The 46th annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is billed as the world's largest hot-air ballooning event.  People come from all over the world to see the mass ascension.  The event runs through next Sunday and is expected to attract close to a million visitors.
