First Person Arts is a Philadelphia nonprofit organization that celebrates the power of the personal. Their storytelling, social impact, and festival programs reinforce their mission: everyone has a story to tell, and sharing these stories connects us with each other and the world.
Loraine Ballard Morrill speaks with First Person Arts Executive Director Jamie J. about the organization and the 14th Annual First Person Arts Festival which features internationally renowned artists and everyday people taking to stages across the city to tell their real life stories. Loraine also spoke with Philadelphia-born poet, activist, and recording artist Ursula Rucker who will perform in My Father’s Daughter. The First Person Arts Festival takes place from November 4-15.
